21 January 2010

With school term has begun, works are piling and stamina training has just started, i have decided to give the team a fun training, which is only given after the players have completed their daily drill.

Daily training usually starts with 'shooting the goalie' session and 'jungle trekking' (to retrieve the lost balls, the beauty of having scouts in the team ahaha). I believed the team does not just develop their football skills.. But also in jungle trekking, visibility training (looking for balls especially the black one in the forest), architecture (building bridges from fallen branches as part of the forest is flooded), long jump (jumping across the flooded area - not for khalis), accuracy (to avoid shooting accurately to the electric cable which we are good now since one of the goalpost 'magically disappeared' and the other one is moved to a strategic location) and important of all, teamworking (together2 looking for missing balls).

After all of those above, we start off with stretching, runnings (whether its whistle run, usual run, dribbling run, triangle run or back & fro run) and the 4 sets of 20 each (sit up, push up, squatting and star jump). Fitz, i know u miss all these =D

As we share the borrowed field (thanks to HB) with non-IBL, we usually have a game and the girls have their basic training sessions.

Yesterday, i have created a new fun training called 'R&C', which stands for Reaction and Confusion training (thanks to the tough training clip from soccer drill). I managed to punish the team with 5 or 10 times of any of the three sets (excluding star jump) but they did it happily ahaha.. It motivates them to do better and to excel in their individual performance while having fun! The training purpose is to increase their agility, increased their thinking skills, to teach them to listen and following orders well, teamworking, bonding, communication and of course.. Stamina and fitness.

Thank you to Ben, Hafiz, Wafiy, Mubdi, Ahmad, Sufri, Faris, Fyzah, Farha, Zafirah, Siska and Yoyo, who made the training fun. Special thanks to Salwa for joining us and for giving tips on stretching for goalie.

p/s: today will be a relay training game =D
